Drywall is a material made of two layers of cardboard with a 1–2 centimeter layer of gypsum in between. It is installed on walls and ceilings or used for decorative features or partition walls. Drywall is a lightweight and cost-effective material that can help transform the interior of your home. It allows you to give walls a new look or create a suspended ceiling in your living space.
Types of drywall:
• Standard drywall – Mainly used for suspended ceilings or for building partition walls. Its standard color is white.
• Moisture-resistant drywall – The only difference from standard drywall is the inclusion of silicone in the core. This makes it resistant to moisture, making it suitable for use in damp environments without compromising its properties. It is typically green in color.
• Fire-resistant drywall – Meets fire safety requirements. It contains fibers in the core that help prevent the spread of fire in case of an emergency. This type of drywall is red in color
